Robert has academic training in clinical psychology, and organisational psychology to Masters level. In pursuit of the well-rounded scholar’s education, Robert also gained degree qualifications in history, philosophy and English literature.
Robert worked his way through university as a nightclub barman, before embarking on a career in clinical psychology where he managed community mental health services for 10 years. Both of his early careers provided Robert with incredible opportunities to observe and gain insight into the needs, desires and aspirations of human beings when they are at their best, and worst.
Robert’s personal and professional style has been described as dynamic, insightful, and action-oriented. He is at his energised best when he is bouncing ideas with clients and understanding the essence of complex problems and the actions required to resolve them. Being a strong extrovert, Robert has strengths as an engaging speaker and dynamic facilitator, and is recognised for his insights into the nature of organisations’ people issues. With a lively and offbeat sense of humour and a habit of speaking his mind, he is very effective in playing the role of "truth-teller".
